A week between two villages on the Canal du Midi — Homps and Villeneuve-lès-Béziers — and the road felt different this time. Not because the south of France had changed, but because we weren't traveling alone in the same way anymore.
Vento kept an eye on the weather. Roque kept an ear on the Benimar. Chef Simão helped Le turn market finds into proper meals. The Journey App tracked every stop. For the first time, the motorhome felt less like a vehicle crossing a continent and more like a small ship with a full crew. It's a good feeling.
The week ended with a diagnosis and a decision — the levelling system needs attention, Portugal calls. We pointed south. The Canal stayed behind, slow and ancient and completely unbothered.
